Dear aspirants,
Following the UrFU rector’s order dated 27 October 2020 №879/03 “On implementation of educational programs due to prevention of the spread of a new coronavirus infection”, and vice-rector for research order dated 23 October 2020 №19-10/39 “On the organization of study process of aspirants in conditions of prevention of the spread of a new coronavirus infection” all aspirants switch to distance learning mode.
1st year aspirants!
1st year aspirants learn the subjects of the curriculum using distance learning technologies on the Microsoft Teams – Office 365 platform following the schedule published in Microsoft Teams. Work with the supervisor is carried out on an individual schedule through various means of communication: e-mail, social networks, messengers, etc.
2nd year aspirants!
All types of educational activities are carried out following the curriculum for the 3 semester, with active interaction with scientific supervisors.
Practice for obtaining professional skills and experience in professional activities (pedagogical practice):
- in terms of implementing classroom work, it is allowed to conduct on-line courses;
- in terms of implementation of methodological work-development of on-line courses, courses with partial use of electronic resources.
3rd and 4th year aspirants!
All types of educational activities are carried out following the curriculum of 5 and 7 semesters, with active interaction with scientific supervisors.
Dear aspirants,
We recommend you to limit entering university campuses, postgraduate department and other buildings. On all questions contact the postgraduate department via email or by number 375-45-77, 375-95-79 (S. Kovalevskaya, 5), 389-93-30 (Lenina, 51).
Delivery of ordered documents (certificates, statements, other) will be carried out daily from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the lobby of Sofia Kovalevskaya building, or on Lenina after you call to the postgraduate department. Scans are sent by email.
If it is necessary to be present at the University (conducting experiments, laboratory work, etc.), entrance to the territory of academic buildings is carried out by personal application (attached).

We want to inform international aspirants (1 year) that your stipend bank cards had been issued.
A timetable of receiving is attached below.
Please, bring your passport, mobile phone, and face mask.
NB! Cards will be stored in the Bank for 1 year (until September 2021). If presently you are not in Russia due to pandemic, you may receive the card during the year.

Dear aspirants!
1. The spring exam session will be held online in the following dates:
From 1 to 20 June for the 1st year postgraduates;
From 8 to 20 June for the second- and third-year postgraduates.
2. The exam schedule is developing as we receive information from departments of your institutes, which are responsible for aspirants. We also have to confirm the information. The final schedule will be uploaded on site before 24 May.
3. Grade books will not be used during this session. All information recorded on the internet on your marks and credits will be put into grade books later. This will be completed when the postgraduate department starts working offline.
4. Because of the online mode of this session, each aspirant has to get in touch with his supervisor in advance and discuss communication means and electronic documentation circuit. Please, pay attention to this point, because session dates will not be shifted. If your supervisor doesn’t answer you, let us know asap (contact details are below).
5. Attestation consists of two parts: Аттестация делится на две составляющие:
5.1. Attestation based on results of scientific-research work for the current academic year (held uniformly for all aspirants according to algorithm below):
5.1.1. Attestation of the spring semester is the final for the current academic year. The decision on attestation for the academic year is made by the Academic Council of the Institute on the basis of the decision of the Department meeting.
5.1.2 From 25 May to 10 June all aspirants have to send to their supervisors filled attestation paper (the attestation paper, 2019 edition, is downloaded either from the site or personal account). They will be reviewed and approved at the Department meeting. The supervisor writes his decision in the attestation file and sends the file to the Department for decision-making. The academic secretary of the Department writes the decision of the Department in the paper and sends archived attestation papers of postgraduates to the Deputy Director of the Institute for science for transferring to the Academic Council of the Institute. The Deputy Director of the Institute sends the protocol of the decision of Academic Council and attestation paper to the Postgraduate Department until 20 June.
5.2. Attestation of disciplines according to the curriculum (curriculum is uploaded on site):
1st year (for all specializations)
- candidate exam on foreign language, candidate exam on history and philosophy of science (exam committee has to fill up electronic reports and send them to the Postgraduate department).
Exams will be held on the platform specified in the schedule. Instructions for connecting to the Adobe Connect platform are attached. On 1 June, on the Adobe Connect platform will be consultations on History and Philosophy of Science for all aspirants of all institutes (check the SCHEDULE). To participate in them, you must log in in advance, following the instructions.
- credit on pedagogy of higher school (a professor fills in electronic reports and sends them to the Postgraduate department).
2nd year (study term 3 years)
- candidate exam on special discipline (exam committee has to fill up electronic reports and send them to the Postgraduate department). The exam will be held on a platform chosen by a Department.
To prepare for the exam, an aspirant can use the work program of the discipline. Click on the link: https://programms.edu.urfu.ru/ru/ (you need to find your educational program and click on “Documents”)
- credit on scientific-research seminar (an aspirant has to print the exam paper from the postgraduate department site, fill-up required fields, and send it to a supervisor/professor. The supervisor puts a mark and signature (credit/no-credit) and then sends back the paper);
- credit on scientific-research practice (an aspirant sends files with a plan and a report of practice, as well as a feedback form (all forms and documents are on the Postgraduate department site in the section – scientific-research practice) to the supervisor to get a review and signature. The supervisor fills the required fields and sends them back to the aspirant);
- credit on optional discipline - if it was chosen by an aspirant (the aspirant has to print the exam paper from the postgraduate department site, fill-up required fields, and send it to a supervisor/professor. The supervisor puts a mark and signature (credit/no-credit) and then sends back the paper);
ATTENTION! The aspirant has to approve the exam papers and the report documents of practice with his supervisor/professor. Then download them on the portal of electronic study “Moodle”, in the section of your Institute “Attestation of 2nd-year aspirants”. To login Moodle, go through your personal account or follow the link https://elearn.urfu.ru/course/view.php?id=4311. The instruction is attached. Name the file as follow: name, surname_institute_year of study_discipline.
Documents, approved by a supervisor, must be uploaded from 8 to 20 June.
2nd year (study term 4 years)
- credit on scientific-research practice (an aspirant sends files with a plan and a report of practice, as well as a feedback form (all forms and documents are on the Postgraduate department site in the section – scientific-research practice) to the supervisor to get a review and signature. The supervisor fills the required fields and sends them back to the aspirant);
ATTENTION! The aspirant has to approve the exam papers and the report documents of practice with his supervisor/professor. 6. The Department of postgraduate study has the right (if necessary) to request from the aspirant or supervisor screenshots of electronic correspondence between the graduate student and the supervisor to confirm the authenticity of the submitted reporting documents.
7. An aspirant gets attestation for the semester if he completes all points in section 5.1 and 5.2.
8. If an aspirant has not completed the requirements specified in section 5.1 and 5.2 for a reasonable excuse, he must inform the Postgraduate Department no later than 20 June before 2:00 pm. Please submit proving documents (scan/photos) confirming the objectivity of your absence.

The meeting is on 29 April 2020 at 3:00 pm (15:00). It is going to be online conference the same format as a real attestation.

Dear postgraduates,
Due to imposing of new restrictions to prevent CoVID-19 spread, from 23 March 2020 to 12 April 2020 all postgraduates are shifting to Distance Learning, entering the university is prohibited.
On site you may find methodological instructions on distance learning and professors’ contact details.
Interaction with postgraduate department (5 Sofia Kovalevskaya T908, 51 Lenina 202) is going virtual (via email) and on phone.
